Twiggy spills the beans on Tyler Robinson, the man who shot Charlie Kirk.
Looks like there is no honor among tranny lovers.
Robinson murdered the conservative speaker Kirk because he didn't like trans people being picked on and apparently murder is justified for holding a position contrary to your beliefs. So Robinson committed the ultimate act of bullying tout of anger at what he perceived as justifying bullying.
This shows the entitlement mentality of the Left, particularly young leftists, and especially of the sexually deviant. I mean, the guy was dating a dude in a dress after all.
Maybe he should look into dating lumb4rjacks.

Yes, judge Sparkles has braided her hair and said "omigoood" and demanded that DHS disobey the court that overruled her.
FTA:
A federal judge on July 8 said the Trump administration must not comply with an order from another federal judge and must continue to have key functions of an immigration database disabled.
Judge Sparkle Sooknanan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said that officials with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and other agencies shall keep disabled the ability to look up Social Security numbers and carry out mass uploads in the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) system.
Sooknanan ordered the Trump administration in June to disable the features, finding that recent updates to the database violated privacy laws by disclosing Americans’ Social Security numbers and other sensitive information.
But this door knob in black was overturned. A judge in Florida had approved the reinstating of the SAVE system in four states. But she was having none of that.

Sooknanan said on July 8 that arguments from the government in favor of pausing her previous order were unpersuasive, including the argument that highlighted a July 7 ruling from Judge T. Kent Wetherell II of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida that ordered DHS to enable the functions for four states under a 2025 settlement that he had approved.Wetherell had noted that he could have waited until the case in Washington proceeded, but that the four states had presented "unrebutted evidence showing that they are suffering real and concrete harm every day that passes without the disabled features of the SAVE system.”
He said that Sooknanan could have deferred to his previous determination that the functions were lawful, which was reached, he said, in part because the Social Security Act does not preclude disclosing Social Security numbers for immigration enforcement.
So now DHS has two contradictory orders. I would tell Sparkles to go polish her nails and listen to the adult in the room. She needs to get a neck brace to prevent from injuring her spine from shaking her head back and forth.
Sparkles said that if, in the end, the ruling applied to the four states under Weatherall's ruling the other 46 are still bound by her decision.
Uh, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that district judges may not issue blanket ruling over the whole country. This judge just flipped her middle finger at the Supreme Court. DHS should tell her to put it where the sun don't shine and the moon don't wax - at least outside of her jurisdiction. Sooknanan is the judge for the District Court of D.C.; she has zero authority to impose this ban on the Administration.
BTW Spakles Sooknanan Sounds like a name given by a tween girl to her My Little Pony.

It's disgraceful that this will have to go to the U.S. Supreme Court and tie up the overworked court but that's where this is heading. Any rational court of law should have tossed this law before the state AG's opening statement was concluded.

Why didn't Illinois beef up police presence instead of disarming people who need those guns since the cops are nowhere to be found?
The presiding judgre in the case said that the AR-15, which the law bans, is the "weapon of choice" of Americans and so should not be banned.
Actually it shouldn't matter what is their "weapon of choice"; firearms are protected by the Constitution. There is no exception. Part of the reason for that is the Founders wanted the People to have the tools they would need if the government should need to be removed by force. (BTW there is a federal law against planning to remove that same government by force, something the Founders thought would be necessary "the tree of liberty must be replenished by the blood of patriots and tyrants from time to time". To do that we must have an armed citizenry.
I don't know if tub-o-goo Pritzker know that or not; he's not real bright. But certainly the 7th circuit judges should know that.
The Supreme Court has already issued ruling with a strict interpretation of such laws.
The Left has systematically taken over most courts and it shows with rulings like this.
These judges should be impeached, if only for criminal stupidity.

Socialists have been embedded in the Democratic Party for decades, since McGovern and probably Eugene McCarthy. They have had to hide their identity because the public wasn't "ready" for them. But they had a timetable and we are now where they think they should be able to come out of the closet and openly proclaim their communism. They are now taking over the party rather than hiding in their ranks because they believe it is time, that America has strayed so far from her Founding that we will accept the Reds. This timetable was ultimately set by the old Soviets and KGB who built a network to undermine America long ago. This is the long revenge from the grave.
Trump is not the cause of the rise of socialism but rather was the effect; the socialists were already there and many of our government's policies were socialist schemes, schemes Mr. Trump wanted to end.
How has Trump been mean? Mostly by telling the truth about the Left. They hate that.
The Wall Street Journal article, which this post uses as primary source material, argues that Trump is so mmean he pushed liberals into becoming blood thirsty militant Marxists and the solution is therefore to be nicer. Uh, that's called APPEASEMENT and it doesn't work in foreign policy and won't work in America either.
The Left has long operated on the Hegelian dialectic; a thesis is presented (say, Americans don't all have healthcare and we need government to give it to them) and it is met by an antithesis (that's daft and we need to make a market-based solution) and it is met with a synthesis (Obamacare). The left takes half a loaf and quickly gobbles it up then presents a new thesis (Obamacare isn't working - we need a government run health industry) and will be met again by an antithesis, leading to a new synthesis that greatly benefits the Left. Always pushing while we are always retreating. This is also sometimes called the Overton Window, at least where social mores are concerned. The window is slammed shut on things that used to be considered normal and opened to things that were once forbidden. Gay marriage is a prime example of that. It went from asking for tolerance to asking for acceptance to asking for celebration. Now the homosexual lobby has won the big kahuna, the right to "marry" (you can no more marry another person of your sex than you can marry a gorilla, or a kitchen mixer, or a blowup doll.) So the movement changed it up and went to the whole "trans" movement, trying to force us to say there is no difference between the sexes and that a kid who has an XY chromosome pattern and male genitalia is a girl who menstruates and can play on a girl's sports team. That was the Overton Window in action. Now if you say gay marriage is a farce you are ostracized by society as a bigot, something everyone agreed with just twenty years ago.
At any rate this radicalization was planned long ago. Why now in particular? Because the kooks thought after Barack Obama - who promised to do this very thing to America - they had won and now want to do their victory dance. They no longer need duplicitous weasels like Schumer and Jeffries to hide behind. They feel they now can take off the masks.

They were driven out but then, as Jesus put it, they came back and saw the place swept out and clean and inviting (meaning the man was primed for them by sin) and so they invited other demons to join them and they had a great party inside the man, and his life was worse than before. That is the Democratic Party now.

War Casualties and Foreign Policy

James Pinkerton shows how Trump has lost far fewer Americans in overseas wars than any other President since the beginning of the millennium except 'old cut and run' Biden:

Bush 43: Total 4,865 (Iraq 4,239, Afghanistan 626)
Obama: Total 2,054 (Iraq 302, Afghanistan 1752)
Trump 45: Total 65 (Afghanistan 45)
Biden: Total 23 (13 Afghanistan)

These casualty numbers are for troops sent into actual hot zones, battlegrounds, not random terrorist attacks or other such casualties.And these numbers only include military personnel, not contractors or aid workers or other such.
Biden, of course, largely inherited a peaceful world which he made more dangerous by his Charlie foxtrot in Afghanistan, his weak, vacillating approach to Ukraine, and his support for Iran and the "cash for peace" deal Obama made which only made Iran stronger. That he lost ANY troops is unacceptable given he had no wars to fight.
Pinkerton is under the delusion that Trump was pushed into attacking Iran by Bibi Netanyahu. I hate to break it to old Pinko but nobody, but nobody, pressed Donald Trump's buttons. He's strong as a mule and twice as stubborn.
And Pinkerton says "Trump chose war", being in complete denial about Iran's growing nuclear threat and not understanding that the military option was all the President had left to deal with them. He'd been in negotiations

"If Trump has his way, the U.S. will be more Hamiltonian and less Wilsonian, seeing the world, as he does, through a mercantilist lens. If so, POLITICO reports, NATO will become a "cash machine,” good for not much more than American arms sales. And that mission, at least, seems to have been accomplished."
I disagree; I don't think Trump is Wilsonian at all but rather Jacksonian in his approach. Wilson was the proto-fascist and Wilson wanted a new world order before we had any such thing as the U.N. HE created the League of Nations. HE was not at all interested in profit for anyone. Trump is also not a "mercantilist" which is a fancy way of saying a heavily regulated economy at the service of the state. Fascism was mercantilist in nature (even while also being proto-socialist) and Trump still favors free trade - he just doesn't favor getting soaked by it. Pinkerton bemoans the end of NATO as anything but a "cash machine to buy American arms" but that would not be Wilsonian at all. Wilson was the architect of an international order. Trump was to stop playing footsie with people who take advantage of us.
Pinkerton goes on to speak about how Trump's efforts have gone nowhere and that Iran won't let him forget - having called for his assassination. Pinkerton seems to be unaware that an Iranian plot to kill Trump was foiled by the FBI well before the start of hostilities. They've ALWAYS wanted to assassinate Trump.
I'm hard on Pinkerton and have always disagreed with him on foreign policy. I actually owe my writing career to him, believe it or not! He wrote an article about the invasion of Afghanistan when we first went in and I left a critical comment. He e-mailed me back and we had a lively exchange (and I cleaned his clock). I remember thinking "hell, I could do that!" and so I did.
At any rate he did a fine job using the stats to show Trump knows how to project power without costing American lives. Hopefully that will continue, but I fear we must take the islands in the Gulf, especially Kharg and those near the strait itself. That will mean Marines. We're going to lose lives if we do that.
Or we can just bomb Iran into a parking lot. It would be a good place to store our newest lines of gas guzzling SUV's before being sold to a grateful world.

They take dominance of culture and forcing propaganda and The Agenda into everything very, very seriously.

It was chosen to ‘decolonise the popular imagination’.
The film was always intended as an expensive act of desecration and cultural vandalism, with the exact same purpose as toppling statues or blowing up Buddhas like the jihadists did in Afghanistan.
It has exactly the same motivations as any other act of cultural vandalism signifying Culrural dominance and erasing or replacing the past.
Modern reality and support for it must be imposed on the great texts of the past, which must be rewritten to conform with the modern ideology.
That is why there is a feminist version of the Odyssey, and that is why that was chosen as the base text instead of any of the other more accurate translations.
That is why 250 million dollars was handed to a director who made an extremely successful movie with a very sympathetic attitude to Communism.
That is why the casting choices deliberately erase and insult white civilisation and white myth and history, sacrificing believability on the altar of diversity.
That is why the script is so appallingly and jarringly modern in tone, written in modern idiom in the language of a 12 year old with no conception that other times and places might sound different or that epic myth requires a certain type of language.
The point is to erase that other time and place, not evoke it. The point is to reduce western civilisation to a seamless and continuous NOW, a now where Marxist lessons and critical race hierarchy dominates everything and where the connections between the Western audience and their own past are mocked and recast as propaganda pieces for the globalist cause.
And that is why there is such a uniform and massive media campaign to gaslight us all on the quality of this propaganda piece and get us to watch it.
Cultural artefacts, both classical culture and popular culture, are for these people tools of dominance, opportunities to enforce The Agenda and train viewers to think the same way.
There is no aesthetic intent. There isn’t an entertainment intent. And there isn’t even a profit intent. It doesn’t necessarily even matter to them if anyone is persuaded.
What matters most is that you are forced to live within their message, with their message assailing your eyes, and that you should know that nothing you hold sacred is immune to their distortion and control

Joe diGenova has unearthed a mountain of evidence that the Ukraine and Britain tampered with our election in 2016 to remove Donald Trump and install Joe "where's the exit" Biden as President.
DiGenova was investigating the "Russian collusion" hoax for the Administration but found a lot of evidence that Ukraine and Britain had been funding not just this attack but multiple other dirty tricks.
It is illegal for foreign countries to tamper with American elections.
I've long suspected this was the case and that Ukraine was one of the culprits. They had been playing footsie with the Clintons long before Trump came on the scene and Trump's America First approach to foreign policy was at odds with their interests. Hillary could be bought, not Trump.
And Britain has long believed that we are just a pack animal, an elephant in India to be harnessed and ridden by the superior British intellect. British intelligence has attempted to steer us the way they wanted for a long time. They stopped doing things themselves but instead decided to manipulate us into doing the work for them. They wanted the Rules Based Order, the international system. Trump didn't comport with their worldview so they tried to replace him.
The British worldview just happened to coincide with the worldview of a lot of members of our intelligence and law enforcement agencies as well. That is the who in "we won't let that happen" from Peter Strzok to his girlfriend.
At any rate diGenova is moving and he's connecting all the dots. Hopefully indictments will be forthcoming soon.

How the Graham Platner Crumbles

I wonder if the statute of limitations has run out or is Platner facing any legal troubles?
The truly frightening thing is Platner was running neck-and-neck with the RINO Susan Collins. Mainers didn't seem to care this guy allegedly forcibly raped a woman.
But no doubt internal polling showed they did and that Platner was going to burn and crash like the Hindenberg, so they pushed him out.
I had hoped he would stay in and take the whole thing down.
Platner was a fraud from beginning to end. He was a rich kid living off his father's money. Daddy was a very successful lawyer making huge amounts of cash. Platner only bought the oyster farm after he decided to run for office so he could lay claim to being one of the common people. He always was a spoiled rich kid who believed he was entitled.
All the other problems - Nazi tattoos, inflammatory statements, manhandling a girlfriend, cheating on his wife, were secondary to this latest bombshell. He raped a former girlfriend.
This guy is a rather unlikeable version of Bill Clinton. Clinton, you may remember, was credibly accused of raping a woman too "better put some ice on that" he said after he was finished.
At any rate Platner has finally caved, freeing the Democrats to select a new candidate. How will they do it? They could a.hold a party caucus b.hold a primary election (with very limited time) or c. have party insiders simply choose a candidate. I'm sure that last is what they want but they did that with Kamala Harris and it turned out poorly. The criticism was that Harris was selected in a smokey back room (it probably was, too, although it tweren't tobacco smoke in the air). But there is very limited time to even organize a caucus.
So a bunch of blunt-smoking bigwigs will probably decide who will run. They have until July 27 to chose or lose.
For the record I have my doubts about the rape allegation. I heard the accuser talk about it and when asked if it was rape she said "definitionally yest" which to me lacks sincerity; if you were raped you would not mince words. Rape is a terrible act, an act of violence. I also wonder about her saying "at some point I thought to myself 'this is no longer my choice'". Sounds to me like consensual sex until old Graham was nearing his happy moment and unable to stop himself.
It doesn't sound like rape to me. But then, he no doubt pressed way too hard to get it.
On the other hand the woman is a Democrat and has no good reason to come forward in the first place. She had kept her peace until now, and it was only when other women came forward that she decided to share as well.
We all remember the Democrats trotting out such women in times past. One accused Trump of raping her even though she had all the details wrong and had nothing at all to corroborate her accusation. We had this same line of attack used on Brett Kavanaugh when he was nominated to the Supreme Court. We had it done to Clarence Thomas too. Even George Bush Sr. had such an allegation, at least a claim he cheated on Barbara. (I have no love for the Bush's but George H.W. was a man who would never cheat on his wife.) This is a common Democrat tactic.
But not a Republican one. We don't make such accusations unless they are true.
At any rate Platner is out and that is good. The man was a walking disaster and who knows what other skeletons would fall out of his closet.

Suffering Sufragettes

Not the worst idea anyone ever had. A bit unfair and completely politically undoable, but the anti-suffragettes predicted everything bad that has happened to America since female suffrage.
When America was first founded only land-owners could vote, and only white male landowners. Black freemen were not allowed, even if they owned their own land. Little by little we began changing that, extending the franchise to more and more people. Now anyone can vote, even illegal aliens if they can get a ballot sent to them (it's still illegal but if nobody wants to stop them...)
But the fact is women vote based more on emotions, at least many do, just as the women who opposed suffrage said they would. And it's especially true of young women who want the government to act as a surrogate husband for them. Many such women have bought into the feminist view and do not want to be beholden to a man, so instead they want to be beholden to government. They find standing on their own two feet to be less enjoyable than they thought. Working is great when you can quit without worrying; men rarely have that luxury.
At any rate female suffrage has profoundly changed our country and not for the better.
Granted, it's unfair to take it away from all women; older married women tend to vote far more logically, and do not support the crazies as the young uns do. But how do you take the vote from the idiots?
At any rate it's an idea that won't happen. We've been on a long-term trend of extending democracy to everyone - the very thing that turns a republic into a democracy and inevitably into a tyranny - and that isn't going to change because people believe in democracy, something loathed and feared by the Founding Fathers and with good reason. Democracies descend into "tyrannies of special interest" as Plato warned. We are there now to a large degree. That is exactly why we elected Trump, to break out from under the tyranny of special interest imposed by the elites.
So de-suffragizing women won't happen soon, but it sure is nice to think about. I wish there was a way to just de-suffragizing liberal women, but until we develop a test for that it's beyond our reach. Of course if we could develop a test for liberalism we might be able to come up with a medical cure.

Check this out; black South Africans don't much like immigrants either and are making their displeasure known. Oh, and these aren't whites moving into the country.
The fact of the matter is South Africa is already a hodge-podge of different tribes. The "Bantu" is the name given to a group of different peoples who immigrated into the region after the Dutch and British made it safe - and profitable - to do so. Most came for jobs created by the White Man. Also, the Zulu's influence had waned thanks to the coming Afrikaaners, and that made these immigrants feel safe. But these people still remain tribal and it was always a real danger South Africa would break down into mass murder after the Whites lost power.
What the Left has never understood is that Africa is a vast continent and just because the people all have black skin south of the Sahara doesn't mean they are all alike. On the contrary, they are every bit as different as Europeans and nobody will mistake a Sicilian for a Swede even though both have light skin. Liberals conveniently ignored things like the genocide attempt in Rwanda because black folks JUST DON'T DO THAT in their worldview.
Immigrants from places like Ghana, Mozambique, and Malawi have been beaten and in some cases killed by vigilante' groups who don't want them in their country.

This only makes the case the white South Africans have been making, that the isolated white farmers are being harassed and killed by black thugs who want to "purify" the country from the people who built it.

South Africa was once the jewel of the continent, a prosperous and peaceful society. Heck, they likely had nuclear weapons! We know they tested them in the South Atlantic. Now the country is a hellhole where death tugs at the sleeves of anyone the ANC and the Bantu people don't like. Even the Zulus have to be worried now.

No Free Speech in Fort Worth

I suppose this woman never heard of the First Amendment. This preacher is exercising not one but two aspects of the amendment.
Wjat about the people who are offended by the ideas and behavior of the Pride event? So, are homosexuals more deserving of their rights than those who disagree?
The article cites an X post by Sarah Field:
"Street preachers Richard Penkoski and David Grisham were subjected to multiple violations of their First Amendment rights while attempting to preach on public property.
Upon arrival, they were immediately met by Fort Worth police officers who blocked their access to the public street and sidewalk, threatening both men with arrest for trespassing if they entered the area. When Grisham reminded officers that he had previously sued the City of Fort Worth in 2014 over this exact issue – a lawsuit that resulted in a settlement and an official apology from the city – the officer dismissed the prior case, stating, "I don’t care, you can file whatever lawsuit you want.”
After being forced outside the barricades, the confrontation escalated as multiple officers allegedly threatened to cite the men based on the subjective reactions of attendees. A female officer stated they would be cited if they said anything "offensive.” When Penkoski responded that offensive speech is protected under the Constitution and is not a crime, the officer claimed it fell under disorderly conduct, stating, "Well, yes, that is the conduct.”
Time to sue again - both the city and the cop who gave him all the grief.
Until there is real pain for pulling this kind of thing it will continue. The parties involved need to pay dearly for this and then they will stop. As the one preacher already sued the city and won it's obvious the lesson was not learned.
The X post continues:
Another officer further confirmed that citations would be based solely on whether others were offended. When Penkoski asked whether calling a biological male a "male” would result in a citation if someone took offense, the officer responded that if he continued doing so and someone found it offensive, he would be cited. Penkoski also pointed out that he was deeply offended by half-naked men walking around children at the event, but the officer dismissed the complaint, responding, "There’s really not much I can do about that.”
During the encounter, Penkoski pulled up and directly showed an officer established U.S. Supreme Court precedent confirming that the government cannot prohibit citizens from accessing traditional public forums such as streets and sidewalks simply because a private group holds a permit. Although the officer acknowledged the information by responding, "Huh,” he continued enforcing the restriction. (This video will be in the thread)
As officers repeatedly pushed the preachers farther away from the event, David Grisham was ultimately issued a citation for "unreasonable noise.” When asked to explain what constituted unreasonable noise under the circumstances, officers were unable to provide a clear definition, vaguely suggesting it could involve "sticking a megaphone in someone’s ear” – which Penkoski states did not occur, as the megaphone was held at waist level – or simply offending people.
In other words the cops were instructed to not tolerate any dissenting people at that protest and as a result they couldn't justify their actions based on law. They had orders from their superiors.

A Fort Worth PD spokesman on Monday provided The Christian Post with the following statement: "The Fort Worth Police Department is committed to protecting the constitutional rights of all individuals, including the right to free speech and peaceful assembly, while also ensuring public safety and enforcing applicable laws and ordinances.
The FWPD admitted these officers were wrong on how the Constitution works and ordered "refresher training" for officers. But as I mentioned above, it is pretty obvious the officers were acting under orders.
The preachers need to sue the daylights out of Fort Worth.

The Fix is in; Judge Who Blocked ICE Gets Slap on the Wrist

Hannah Dugan, the kformer Wisconsin judge who tried to help an illegal alien sneak out the back door to avoid being arrested by ICE, was convincted of interfering with federal agents. Unfortunately she got off very easy -- no jail time and just a five thousand dollar fine. She did lose her job on the bench.
This was a willful violation of the law by a person who is supposed to uphold the law and the penalty needed to be severe to deter others. If a judge can flagrantly break the law and get just a small fine then there is no law in the land.
Prosecutors had sought 15-21 months in jail.
Once again the Left has the game rigged and the rules only apply to the little people.
U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman said:
"I think this is a situation where an otherwise good person, upset by immigration policies in this country, made a bad decision in the moment,”
That is not her decision to make. Whether you think Dugan right or wrong in her views the fact remains she is a judge, sworn to uphold the law, and she simply changed the law to suit her. This was a grave action and it undermines the law everywhere.
Had Dugan just been, say, a bailiff or some other such perhaps this argument might carry a little weight, but this was a JUDGE. From those who are given much much will be required.
We are living in a nation where the deck is stacked for the Elites. This proves it.
Dugan remains defiant, publicly stating she defends what she did as the right thing and that she does not deserve to have her "life's work" tainted by this one event.

How to Fix the Birthright Citizenship Issue

BREAKING: Justice Brett Kavanaugh just handed Congress a clear legal path to end automatic birthright citizenship for the children of illegal aliens. No constitutional amendment required.
Here is what happened. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court struck down President Trump’s executive order on birthright citizenship in a case called Trump v. Barbara. Kavanaugh voted against the administration and agreed the order could not stand. But his separate opinion may prove more valuable to this cause than a courtroom win would have been.
Kavanaugh wrote that the order did not violate the Fourteenth Amendment at all. In his view, the order failed for one reason only. It conflicted with a federal statute, Section 1401 of the immigration code, that Congress passed and Congress can change.
Then he spelled out the path. Kavanaugh wrote that Congress could amend that statute or pass new legislation. Lawmakers could create exceptions to automatic citizenship for children born to parents who are in this country unlawfully or only temporarily.
A sitting justice of the Supreme Court put the roadmap in a published opinion for the whole world to read.
Understand why the statute matters here. Congress wrote the Fourteenth Amendment’s citizenship language into federal law in 1940 and carried it into the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952. The rule politicians call untouchable has been sitting in an ordinary statute for more than eighty years. Ordinary statutes can be rewritten by ordinary majorities.
For thirty years, the political class fed Americans a different story. They claimed birthright citizenship was locked into the Constitution and nothing short of an amendment could touch it. Amendments require two thirds of Congress and three quarters of the states, so the excuse worked. Politicians could wring their hands, mail their fundraising letters, and never cast a hard vote.
Kavanaugh demolished that excuse. He even pointed out that Congress has considered bills to change birthright citizenship for three decades and passed none of them. The barrier was never the Constitution. Congress chose the excuse over the work, year after year, while the abuse got worse.
And the abuse is real. Foreign nationals fly here on tourist visas for the sole purpose of giving birth. They collect an American passport for the child and fly home with a golden ticket. An entire birth tourism industry advertises this scheme openly, and smugglers sell illegal border crossings with citizenship for a future child as part of the pitch. Almost no other developed nation on earth hands out citizenship this way.
The Fourteenth Amendment served a specific purpose. Congress wrote it in 1868 to overturn Dred Scott and guarantee that no American could be denied citizenship because of his race. That purpose stands, and closing a modern loophole does nothing to disturb it.
The men who wrote the amendment never imagined visa overstays, birth tourism packages, or an open border used as a citizenship machine. Kavanaugh made this exact point. He argued that large scale illegal immigration and modern travel created conditions the Reconstruction Congress never envisioned, and that new exceptions can fit alongside the historical ones for diplomats and occupying enemy forces.
Now look at the math on the Court, because the press buried it. The headlines called this a 6 to 3 ruling. On the constitutional question, it was really 5 to 4. Justices Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch dissented outright, and Kavanaugh joined them in rejecting the majority’s constitutional reasoning even though he voted to strike the order on statutory grounds.
That means four sitting justices have now signaled that automatic citizenship for the children of illegal aliens is a policy choice, and policy choices belong to Congress. When Congress passes a statute and that statute reaches the Court, the ground has already shifted. This is the strongest legal position the reform side has held in a century.
Washington got the message within hours. President Trump declared that "No long and unwieldy Constitutional Amendment is necessary!” and called on Congress to get to work. Senator Tom Cotton already has a bill, and Senators Cornyn and Scott have proposals targeting birth tourism. The Justice Department announced a crackdown on birth tourism visa fraud the same week.
Some Republicans, including Speaker Johnson and Senators Paul and Lee, still want a constitutional amendment. An amendment takes years while a statute takes months, and the Court’s own deciding vote just said a statute can do the job. Pass the bill now and let those who want an amendment pursue one on a parallel track.
So here is my message to every member of the House and Senate. The excuse is gone. Stop hiding behind a constitutional barrier that a Supreme Court justice just told you does not exist. Draft the bill, amend Section 1401 with clear exceptions, hold the hearings, and put every member on record before the American people.
Some members will vote no, and the voters deserve to see exactly who they are. Every politician who spent decades promising to fix this now has to show us whether the promise was real. There is nowhere left to hide.
American citizenship is the most valuable thing this nation confers. It should never be handed out automatically to reward lawbreaking or sold through birth tourism packages. The people’s elected representatives should set the rules, and the people should hold them accountable.
Justice Kavanaugh ruled against the White House on Tuesday and still handed Congress the pen. Our job as citizens is to make sure they pick it up.

Trump doubles down on Greenland while speaking with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"That's what hurt my relationship with NATO. Greenland doesn't help Denmark. Denmark doesn't spend money to really help Greenland, but it's important for the U.S.,And it's surrounded by Chinese ships and Russian ships. Greenland should be controlled by the U.S., not by Denmark."
In other words NATO is still mired in past glory, dreaming of the days when it's members were great powers in their own right and not subservient to the U.S. military. They want the memories of glory, but are unwilling to do the hard work needed to be relevant as world powers in their own right. They want our money and protection but don't understand that with that comes our right to assert our will.
If others pay your way they are the boss. 'Nuff said.
Europe has yet to learn that. They want to play act at being important and owning places like Greenland make them feel like they are not the jokes they have let themselves become.
In the end Denmark will lose Greenland. It will either be to an America working as much on their behalf as on our own, or it will be to Russia or China. Take your pick.
This is exactly why it is not a good idea to leave your security to others so you can enjoy yourself while they pay. In the end the check will come due.

The Final Frontier

The author suggests space mining would primarily be of value not for bringing home raw materials but for space construction and he's right to a degree, but only to a degree. For instance, there is considerable Helium III on the lunar surface and it is a very important material, especially in medicine and the like, and we are running out of it. We'll need to get it from the Moon. There are a lot of other valuable things in space, be it on the Moon or asteroids, things like silver or lithium that will be in increasing demand as the AI revolution continues.
But I knew the naysayers would be out in force over this. So many people are so very short-sighted and ignorant and whenever an article like this pops up anywhere they come out in force.

It's not just about scientific curiosity, although there are things that can be learned by people that will be missed by a machine. A man might see something and just flip over a rock while the machine will just pass it by.
But that's not the point. The point was and is expanding, growing, becoming more than just a planet-bound, resource-limited species. We are now in a downward spiral and will continue so because we now longer have any frontiers to explore, to settle, to tame.
Imagine if after Columbus found America (and he only did because Europe was exploring and colonizing before he even proposed his little trip to Queen Isabella) the European powers argued the same "too far, too labor intensive, not worth our time or trouble". Anything worth doing is worth facing hardship.
Growth is often painful but that pain opens a whole new vista in life. As a species we have always faced such growing pains. Our distant ancestors climbed out of the ocean to suck air on land and found it difficult to move but we stayed at it, eventually colonizing the planet. Human beings came down from trees, then caves, and traveled from continent to continent. Are we to assume the journey is over now and we should just stay put, not leaving the comfort of our current home?
We need to colonize space - the Moon, Mars, asteroids, and the moons of the outer system.
Why? Right now just one of those asteroids could hit us and there isn't a single thing we can do about it and we would become extinct, if it was a large one. If people were on the Moon, just 240,000 miles away, the human race would survive. Ditto a major nuclear war. Ditto a doomsday virus. Ditto a massive volcanic event.
The farther and wider a species spreads the more likely it is to survive. There is a reason why crocodiles/alligators survived when things like dinosaurs died out; they were everywhere and could find places to ride out the apocalypse. We need to do likewise.
There was a paper that gained a great deal of fame back around 1900 called the Turner Thesis. The argument was that America was a frontier nation, and always had the safety valve of the frontier residing in the psyche of the People. If times were too hard, or if you did something bad and needed a fresh start, you could always flee to the frontier. It was a wild place and pioneers always felt a sense of satisfaction in knowing they were spreading civilization to a wilderness. Turner argued that the closing of the frontier would lead to profound psychological changes in the American People.
Turner wasn't wrong; we've changed immensely from what we were. (Immigration helped that along too but we were wise enough to stop immigration for over forty years.) But the frontier still holds a place in our collective hearts; it is the reason why Westerns were and are so popular. It's why shows about Alaska are popular today; it's our last frontier and it will close eventually, though few are brave enough to face the vicissitudes of that frozen and wild land.
Space is the last, and as Star Trek put it, final frontier. No matter how long or far we go there will always be more of it. And we can settle anywhere we like (within reason) up to and including just building giant space stations and living on them permanently. Scientists have invented many types of space colonies; O'Neil Colonies, Stanford Toruses, Bernal Spheres, etc. If you can build a suspension bridge you can build a space colony - it's just much larger and enclosed. Oh, and it spins to provide gravity.
At any rate let's continue with a few more of the stupid comments:

As if we are going to use chemical rockets forever. This commenter doesn't understand that, in space, the engine gives just an initial push and inertia does the rest. It's like firing a bullet. There are many ways to move stuff in space that costs little.
For instance we could build solar sails. Light exerts pressure and a huge, very thin sail made of reflective material can sail as surely as a wind-driven craft on Earth. Low thrust by highly efficient and it keeps running, keeps accelerating, as long as you like. You can even tack into the 'wind' by various methods, and use the solar wind (charged particles coming out of the sun) as a further means of propulsion. We can also build an electric rocket, particularly a mass driver. Wonderful idea; much like a water-wheel a mass driver used electromagnets to move a bunch of buckets full of dirt, plain old dirt. Chucks the dirt out at the end and pulls the bucket back in. Power it with solar energy and you have a cheap propulsion system that could use the slag from your mining operation to get the ore back to Earth. There is also the Nerva K, which uses a nuclear reactor to superheat a material that you expel out the bottom - a nuclear rocket.
Getting around in space isn't expensive; what is expensive is leaving the Earth. And landing stuff is a LOT cheaper.

People wishing to enter dangerous environments that are extremely hostile to human life ought to forget outerspace and focus on innerspace; stay home and explore earth’s oceans, which hold vast, untapped resources that would actually be possible to mine, unlike the moon, Mars, and asteroids."
I've already explained why, after the high initial cost, space resources would prove cheaper. That is often true of things - a hydro-electric dam has a very high up-front cost but produces power for a long time quite cheaply relative to other systems.
As for mining the deep oceans, the guy is just clueless. In space you need to keep the pressure IN. A thin membrane is adequate; the Apollo landing modules were as thin as a couple of sheets of Reynolds Wrap and pressurized - little more than balloons. The deep ocean, on the other hand, is so heavy we can barely send probes down to the bottom and even many well-tested submarines that did not go to the bottom cracked and people died. Also, there is a rich habitat in the oceans while nothing at all in space; mining the bottom of the sea could wipe out whole species while mining in space could wipe out - a couple of rocks. Oh, and how are you going to mine in the deep?

There was no reason to go to the Marianas Trench either, or to the stratosphere, but the Picard family did it anyway. No reason to climb Mt. Everest. No reason to go to the North Pole or Antarctica.
Robot probes don't inspire people - people do. And robot probes don't colonize, making a new world for our progeny. People do.

Thousands have tried to sign up for Musk's Mars colony - they have had to turn them away. Obviously SOME want to live this way.
And what does this author do for a living? Obviously he's not a farmer or he wouldn't sneer at maintaining buildings and growing food, which is what farmers do. But if he's, say, an accountant, he still labors all day at a task that is at least as mundane, and a hellova lot less important than working to maintain a colony on another world.
Yeah; it would be a bit like life imprisonment as you couldn't go outside except in a space-suit and only when the sun is quiet and not for long lest radiation kill you. But there are plenty of people who are happy to live inside all the time. I would add that it would not remain prison-like for long as eventually large habitats will be built - in lava flow tubes, inside of bluffs and elsewhere, which will be filled with plants and water and feel very much like the outdoors. We can synthesize that, up to and including moving air for a "breeze". Also you will have plenty of computer technology to entertain you. On a Moon colony you could even get on the internet, even if it would be a bit slow.
We are, after all, just passengers in space anyway. Earth is just a much bigger space habitat than the kind we are going to build.
Here is the only really thoughtful critique:
"We are going nowhere locally in our solar system until we can generate artificial gravity. It is absurd to believe astronauts could live in Zero G for 10 months on the way the Mars and then go down to the planet and be able to function. It is well documented it can take weeks if not months the re-adapt to gravity with a myriad of physiological issues, like experiencing vertigo. A spinning craft to generate 1 G would have to be a minimum of 1/4 mile in diameter across to avoid the spatial distortion caused by the Coriolis effect."
Actually it's not at all absurd to think astronauts could spend ten months in space in zero G; they've done it in the ISS and the Soviets did it in the old Mir. But it's not optimal, for sure.
The main problem is radiation shielding. Radiation outside of the Earth's magnetic field is a serious issue, and you need mass - lots of it - to protect you. There would have to be storm "cellars" to act as shelters. This greatly increases the mass of the ship, making it harder to launch and harder to get the proper course window to each Mars. Oh, and harder to decelerate at the end.
He is correct; a rotating ship would have to be fairly large to avoid the Coriolis Effect. The CE is a phenomenon where acceleration is different at different points in the rotating body. Your head is moving slower than your body, in other words, and the result is there will be a lower gravity there than in your feet. This would be - disadvantageous to put it mildly. It would NOT be impossible but difficult, and everything you do would have to be quite different than on Earth. It could be useful when you sleep; it would tug on your body and help keep muscles working and help you avoid some of the more unpleasant issues of zero g, like your head bobbing in the low gravity, or breathing issues when you sleep. And it would be helpful when you use the toilet, at least more helpful than zero g pooping, which requires a lot of muscle use.
Difficult but not impossible. And if you are sending a whole space colony there, why not a big one? Then you can avoid the problem. Or increase your speed so you get there sooner.
An Orion nuclear drive would do that. Use atomic bombs and chuck them with a gun under a "pusher plate". I assure you you will go fast. Estimates said you could get to Mars in a month. Of course the Outer Space Treaty made this spacecraft drive illegal back in the late sixties, but Trump wants to get out of it.
Still, there is no reason to dawdle in space anyway. It's a whole lot of nothing except when there is something - and that something is rarely good. Radiation, micrometeors, ice, Little green space women, etc.
Space living is the next step in our evolution, like it or not. Staying here means staying in a place that will become increasingly poor, increasingly despotic, and wars will continue to break out and likely get nastier. Our only way out of this cycle is to do what our forefathers did, from the time they first left Africa so many millenia ago - colonize the wilderness. God commanded that in the Bible after all "be fruitful and multiply and fill the Earth". So many think the Earth just means this planet. I take a larger view of that command.
